Sterndrive Engine Parts

The stern drive engine is also known as the Inboard Outboard engine and is located just in front of the transom (stern) and delivers propulsion outside the hull. Sterndrives are known to put out higher horsepower per engine and clean transom with no bodily cutouts or protruding powerhead for easier use.  Their positioning also eliminates the need for a propshaft and rudder system freeing up the boats interior space. They are easy to work on but have overly exposed parts that could be subjected to easy damage.
